Data Standards

GenoLogics is focused on ensuring our solutions address industry supported data standards and laboratory regulations.

The OMIX platform tracks standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols and automates compliance and deviation tracking. This platform provides the infrastructure to support the compliance of many government regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures), 21 CFR Part 58 (GLP - Good Laboratory Practices), and HIPAA privacy laws.

GenoLogics staff participated in the creation of the Functional Genomics Experiment (FuGE) Object Model (OM). The MGED 2, HUPO PSI and Metabolomics Society have collectively agreed to base their standards work on the FuGE OM to enable consistency in data representation across the systems biology science domains. The GenoLogics OMIX platform’s OM is based on the FuGE OM.

GenoLogics supports the XAR (eXperiment Archive) manifest XML format to enable data marshalling. GenoLogics key personnel were at the forefront of support when the mzXML and mzData file formats were fused into the new unified format mzML. Our platform captures data in the native data format of specific instruments and stores it in the mxML unified format to facilitate integrated data analysis.

GenoLogics is also working with the NCI/caBIG, the FDA, CDISC and other industry leaders and collaborative efforts that are developing and enforcing data standards. Current compatibility targets for GenoLogics include caBIG Silver and HL7 v2.3 and v3.0 compliance.
